Diabetic Neuropathy

Genova Clinical Research, Inc is conducting a research study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication vs. placebo (an inactive substance) for individuals with chronic peripheral neuropathy due to post shingles pain or diabetes. There are 9 visits over 9 weeks. Qualified participants will receive study medications (may include placebo), study related physicals, and lab work at no charge. Compensation may be available to qualified participants for each completed visit for time and travel expenses.

If you are interested in this study you should:

• Be between the ages of 18 and 65
• Have had neuropathic pain for at least the last 3 months due to diabetic neuropathy or post herpetic neuralgia (post shingles pain)
• Not have been diagnosed or treated for cancer in the last 5 years (adequately treated localized basal cell skin cancer or in situ uterine cervical cancer is OK)

Postherpetic Neuralgia

Postherpetic neuralgia is a painful condition that may occur after experiencing shingles (pain along the course of a nerve followed by a group of painful, blistered lesions). Postherpetic neuralgia causes moderate to severe pain and burning in the area where the shingles occurred. This type of pain is very difficult to treat and sometimes lasts months to years after the initial outbreak.

Genova Clinical Research, Inc., is conducting a research study of an investigational medication vs. placebo (an inactive substance) for postherpetic neuralgia. There are up to 12 office visits over a 21 week period. Qualified participants will receive study medications (drug or placebo), study related physicals and lab work at no charge. Compensation may be available to qualified participants for each completed visit for time and travel expenses.

If you are interested in this study you should:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have postherpetic neuralgia for at least 3 months
• Not have had cancer in the last 5 years (except treated basal cell cancer or in situ cervical cancer)
• Not have any severe acute or chronic medical condition that may increase the risk of study participation.
