Gout

Genova Clinical Research is conducting a research study testing the long term safety of allopurinol at medically appropriate doses in subjects who have gout.

There are 8-9 office visits over approximately 7 months. Qualified participants will receive study medications, study related physicals, and lab work at no charge.  Compensation may be available to qualified participants for each completed visit for time and travel expenses.

If you are interested in this study you should:

• Be between the ages of 18 and 85
• Have had at least two gout flare ups within the last year
• Have not had cancer within the last 5 years (except for non-melanoma skin cancer that has been treated with no evidence of recurrence, treated cervical dysplasia or treated in situ cervical cancer)

Gout with Cardiovascular Disease

Genova Clinical Research is conducting a research study of an approved medication vs. allopurinol for individuals with gout and a history of cardiovascular disease. 

Qualified participants will receive study medications, study related physicals, and lab work at no charge.  Compensation may be available to qualified participants for each completed visit for time and travel expenses.

If you are interested in this study, you should:

• Be 50 years of age or older if you are a man and 55 years of age or older if you are a woman
• Have a history of gout
• Have a history of cardiovascular disease such as heart attack, angioplasty, cardiac stents, peripheral vascular disease, diabetes with complications, or stroke, or TIA (mini-stroke)
• Have no history of cancer in the last 5 years (successfully treated basal cell skin cancer is ok)
