Gout

Genova Clinical Research is conducting a research study testing the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication versus a placebo for subjects with gout. There are 14 office visits over approximately 58 weeks. Qualified participants will receive study drug, study related physicals and study related lab work at no charge. Compensation for time and travel is also available for qualified participants for each completed visit.

Participants must:

• Be between the ages of 18 and 80, inclusive
• Have had at least two gout flares within the last year
• Have not had any cancer in the last 5 years (successfully treated basal and squamous cell skin cancer and localized cancer of the cervix is OK)

Gout with Cardiovascular Disease

Genova Clinical Research is conducting a research study of an approved medication vs. allopurinol for individuals with gout and a history of cardiovascular disease. 

Qualified participants will receive study medications, study related physicals, and lab work at no charge.  Compensation may be available to qualified participants for each completed visit for time and travel expenses.

If you are interested in this study, you should:

• Be 50 years of age or older if you are a man and 55 years of age or older if you are a woman
• Have a history of gout
• Have a history of cardiovascular disease such as heart attack, angioplasty, cardiac stents, peripheral vascular disease, diabetes with complications, or stroke, or TIA (mini-stroke)
• Have no history of cancer in the last 5 years (successfully treated basal cell skin cancer is ok)
